This is pose 02 of the Skeleton Villager range from Novaminis, and it tells a story all on its own. The bones of a farmhand shamble forward, worn leather apron still riveted to a ribcage that no longer needs protecting, a broad-brimmed hat perched at a slight tilt as if death interrupted him mid-stride. A coil of rope dangles at his hip, well-used boots clad feet that no longer feel the mud, and a long-handled pitchfork rests across one bony shoulder — raised, ready, and utterly unhurried. The detail across the apron's studded edges, the twisted rope, and the articulated skeletal fingers is the kind of thing that rewards a painter's attention.
Where most undead miniatures lean into armoured warriors or robed cultists, this one earns its horror through the mundane — the tragedy of a working man raised against his will. He fits equally well as a random encounter in a cursed farming village, a foot soldier in a necromancer's agrarian army, or a centrepiece on a display shelf. Equally at home on the tabletop and in a collection.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Are building a haunted village, cursed farmstead, or necromancer's domain
- Need characterful undead NPCs that go beyond the standard skeleton warrior
- Want a miniature that rewards careful painting — leather, bone, rope, and worn leather all in one sculpt
- Are collecting the full Skeleton Villager range alongside pose 01 and beyond
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the village of Millhaven to find the harvest untouched — corn rotting on the stalk, barns left open to the weather. Then, at the edge of the field, a figure moves. It walks the rows with mechanical patience, pitchfork raised, rope trailing in the mud. It turns its empty gaze toward them. Behind it, dozens more emerge from the treeline.
