The Undead Lovers is a dual-figure scene piece depicting a skeletal, winged death deity locked in a tender — and deeply unsettling — dance with a mortal woman draped in flowing white robes. His vast black wings arch protectively over them both, his gilded skull tilted toward hers, one bony hand cradling the back of her head. She leans into him, eyes closed, expression serene. This is not a monster devouring a victim. This is something stranger and far more compelling: a moment of genuine, terrible intimacy between the living and the dead.
For Dungeon Masters, this piece carries enormous narrative weight. It works as a psychopomp, a fallen celestial, a lich who has not entirely forgotten what it meant to love, or an avatar of Death itself mid-ritual. For collectors and painters, the sculpt offers extraordinary detail — the individual feathers of the outstretched wings, the contrast between bone and gold, the delicate folds of the woman's gown — making it equally at home on a display shelf as it is at the centre of your campaign's most haunting scene.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a centrepiece NPC for a death deity, psychopomp, or dark celestial encounter
- Are running Ravenloft, Gothic horror, or necromantic-themed campaigns
- Want a dramatic display piece that doubles as a fully playable scene mini
- Are drawn to morally complex characters where love and death are intertwined
- Enjoy ambitious painting projects with genuine technical challenge
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve the soul of a nobleman's daughter — but when they finally find her in the realm of the dead, she is waltzing in the arms of Death himself, and she turns to face them with a look not of terror, but of quiet, heartbreaking contentment. She does not want to be rescued. Now the party must decide whether to honour their contract, or honour her choice.
This miniature is scaled to 35mm. If you would prefer 32mm scaling, send us a message and we will happily adjust. A decorative base option is available — if selected, please include a note specifying which of the three base styles you'd like. The base arrives separate and attaches easily with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be cleaned up with ease.
