Description

They said the sea never gives back what it takes — but the sea lied, and now the crew of the Ashen Tide walks again, cutlasses drawn and barnacle-crusted boots on dry land.

This is pose 02 of our Undead Horde Pirate range, sculpted by Great Grimoire. Where the first pose catches the sailor mid-advance, this one plants its feet wide in a low combat stance — cutlass levelled forward, skeletal jaw stretched in a silent snarl beneath a weathered tricorne hat. Coiled rope hangs across the torso, and the long coat falls in ragged tatters around the bare bone legs beneath. Every detail tells the story of a sailor who refused to go quietly into the deep: the corroded belt buckles, the exposed ribcage, the fingers curled tight around a blade that has seen far too many boarding actions to count.

Whether you're fielding a crew of the cursed undead, populating a ghost ship encounter, or building a rival faction for your coastal campaign, this sculpt carries genuine menace. It paints up beautifully as a standalone undead pirate captain or ranks up equally well alongside other figures from the same range. For display collectors, the dynamic stance and crisp detail make it a compelling centrepiece even off the tabletop.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Run nautical or coastal D&D campaigns and need characterful undead crew members
  • Want a skeleton warrior with real personality beyond the standard shambling horde
  • Are building a ghost ship encounter, a cursed fleet, or a pirate-themed Ravenloft arc
  • Collect sea-themed fantasy miniatures for display as well as play

Encounter Hook:
The harbourmaster's logbook lists the Ashen Tide as lost with all hands — three decades ago. So when the party spots a ship flying black sails entering the bay at midnight, lanterns dark and decks crawling with movement, the question isn't whether the crew survived. It's what brought them back, and whether whoever raised them is still giving the orders.

Details

This miniature is printed at 32mm scale. A decorative thematic base is available as an optional add-on — choose from three sculpted options: a Beach Scene with coral and fish, a Shoreline base with skull and starfish, or a Seabed base with anchor and anemone. All bases are supplied separately and can be attached with a small amount of glue. The figure arrives unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or fine as-is on the gaming table.
