Description

Once a stalwart brother of the mountain holds, now a hollow-eyed thrall answering to a darker summons — and he still carries that crook like he means to use it.

  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Dwarven undead carry a particular weight that most risen dead cannot match. These were stubborn folk in life — proud, enduring, built to outlast anything — and death has not stripped that quality from them, only twisted it. The Undead Dwarven Brother (Crook) captures that grim persistence in miniature form: a once-honourable kinsman now shuffling in service to forces that would have appalled him when he drew breath. The crook he carries speaks to a history — shepherd, elder, keeper of something — now repurposed as the tool of something far less wholesome.

Whether raised by a necromancer delving into forgotten holds, animated by a curse laid on a clan that broke an ancient oath, or shambling up from a collapsed mine that was sealed for very good reasons, this miniature communicates a specific kind of dread. Not the anonymous horror of a skeleton, but the recognisable wrongness of someone who should be at rest. That distinction makes him invaluable at the table — adventurers will feel it even before they roll initiative.

Painted up in pale flesh or bone, rusted armour, and the dusty earthen tones of a long-sealed tomb, he will sit beautifully alongside other undead in a warband or stand alone as the centrepiece of a crypt encounter. His silhouette is unmistakably dwarven, which makes the wrongness of his risen state all the more affecting.

  • Adventurers running undead dungeon delves or collapsed dwarven hold scenarios
  • Dungeon Masters who want undead with cultural specificity, not just generic skeletons
  • Painters who enjoy the challenge of capturing rot, rust, and pale flesh on a stocky, characterful frame
  • Collectors building out thematically coherent undead warbands

Encounter Hook

The party has tracked a missing burial cart to the sealed lower galleries of Grundak's Hold. The gates are barred from the inside. When they finally force their way through, they find the cart overturned — and six former brothers of the hold standing over it, heads bowed, still. Then one of them turns, crook raised, and the rest follow.
