This is the Undead Archlich from Monster Atlas — a fearsome undead spellcaster rendered in exceptional sculpted detail. The figure wears tattered, layered robes that billow dramatically around a gaunt, skeletal frame, bound at the waist with a worn belt. One clawed hand is raised mid-cast, fingers splayed as though channelling necrotic energy, while the other grips a tall staff crowned with a grinning skull and wrapped in exposed bone. The head is a haunting skull framed by sweeping horns and jagged crown-like protrusions — unmistakably regal, unmistakably malevolent. Bare, skeletal feet emerge from beneath the hem of the robes, grounding the figure with an eerie stillness.

Three distinct sculpt variants are available in this range, each capturing a slightly different pose and angle of the same archlich — this is one of three. Whether you need a centrepiece villain for a Tomb of Annihilation-style dungeon crawl, a Ravenloft domain lord, or simply a display piece worthy of your shelf, this sculpt has the presence to carry the moment. The layered robes, expressive clawed hand, and staff detail reward careful painting with washes and highlights.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

  • Need a commanding boss monster for undead or necromantic encounters
  • Are running Ravenloft, Tomb of Annihilation, or any death-themed campaign arc
  • Want a display-worthy centrepiece for a dark fantasy collection
  • Are building a necromancer's court or undead hierarchy on the tabletop

Encounter Hook:
The party has navigated three levels of the tomb only to find the final chamber already occupied — the archlich stands motionless at the far end, staff planted, one hand raised not in greeting but in the opening gesture of a Finger of Death. He speaks only once: "I expected you sooner."
