Description

Something moved in the tunnel wall — and then the wall moved back, revealing six pale eyes and a maw of jagged teeth wider than any dwarf is tall.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Umber Hulk is one of the Underdark's most feared predators, and this first-edition-inspired sculpt by Monster Atlas captures exactly why. The creature's broad, muscle-packed frame is rendered in superb detail — leathery skin stretched over a hunched, powerful torso, four long clawed arms spread wide in a threat display, and that unmistakeable wide-jawed face crowned with four lidded eyes. Two variants are captured across the three poses available: one braced and front-facing with claws raised, one leaning forward mid-lunge with arms extended, and one in a coiled crouch — low-slung and ready to charge. Each pose communicates a different stage of a Hulk's attack pattern, giving Dungeon Masters real flexibility at the table.

Whether you're running a claustrophobic Underdark crawl, populating the lower levels of an ancient dwarven mine, or simply want an iconic D&D monster on your display shelf, this miniature earns its place. The sculpt's old-school sensibility — broad, brutish, and menacing without being overwrought — makes it equally at home as a gaming piece or a collector's centrepiece.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a reliable Underdark encounter piece for D&D 5e or OSR campaigns
  • Want a multi-pose monster to vary their ambush encounters
  • Are building a display collection of iconic D&D creatures
  • Love the look of classic first-edition monster design brought into high-detail resin

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to escort a cartographer through the Underdark passage beneath the Ironcap Mountains. Three days in, the guide goes silent mid-sentence — and the stone behind him splits apart into six blinking eyes and a grin full of fangs. The Umber Hulk's gaze sweeps across the group. The Dungeon Master asks everyone at the table to make a Wisdom saving throw.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and base are separate pieces — a small amount of super glue brings them together cleanly. Some models are sculpted to interact with their base, so we recommend attaching it for the best presentation. Each piece is quality checked before dispatch, though minor support marks can occasionally occur and are easily tidied up with a hobby knife. Arrives ready for priming and painting, or use straight from the box.
