Description
Somewhere beneath the stone, tunnel walls splinter and collapse — and something far too large, far too many-limbed, and far too hungry shoulders its way into the torchlight.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This is pose 2 of our Umber Hulk range by Novaminis, and it captures the creature mid-advance — one enormous chitinous arm reaching forward, compound eyes fixed on whatever poor souls just stumbled into its territory. The sculpt leans into everything that makes Umber Hulks so unsettling at the table: the insectoid mandibles splayed wide, the slab-like carapace bristling with spines across the shoulders, and those disproportionately massive forelimbs that speak plainly to their tunnelling origins. It's an aggressive, momentum-filled pose — this is not a creature that waits to be found.
Umber Hulks are a cornerstone of Underdark encounters, and having a miniature that does justice to their CR 5 menace makes all the difference when you place it on the table. Whether you're running a deep delve through the Underdark, populating a ruined dwarven stronghold, or springing a surprise ambush mid-dungeon, this sculpt carries the weight of the moment. Equally at home on a display shelf for collectors who appreciate the classic D&D monster roster rendered with genuine craft.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a weighty, characterful Underdark threat for their next session
- Are building an Underdark-themed encounter map or monster lair
- Want a Umber Hulk mini that conveys the creature's disorienting, charging energy
- Collect classic D&D monsters or enjoy ambitious painting projects
Encounter Hook:
The party is three hours into a collapsed mine when the ranger notices the walls aren't carved — they're chewed. Then the grinding starts, closer than it should be, and a section of tunnel simply ceases to exist as something bursts through it, mandibles snapping, one arm already swinging.
