Twig Blights are among the most unsettling threats a party can stumble into: not because they are the most powerful, but because they are so very easy to mistake for the undergrowth. This sculpt from Monster Atlas captures that wrongness beautifully — a tall, gaunt figure of gnarled bark and twisted vines, its face a hollow, snarling mask of dark wood, limbs trailing like dead branches caught mid-reach. There is nothing decorative about it. It looks like something that grew wrong, deep in a forest where the light stopped being kind.
Whether you are running a Feywild encounter, a corrupted woodland hexcrawl, or an atmospheric ambush for your D&D 5e group, this miniature adds genuine presence to the table. It also makes a striking piece on a display shelf for collectors drawn to the stranger, more unsettling corners of fantasy creature design.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run Feywild, Shadowfell, or forest-based D&D campaigns
- Need atmospheric monsters for low-level ambushes or nature-corrupted encounters
- Collect creature minis from across the D&D monster catalogue
- Enjoy painting textured, organic sculpts with layered bark and vine detail
Encounter Hook:
The woodcutter's trail ends abruptly at a clearing full of standing figures — too tall, too still, and too evenly spaced to be natural growth. One of them has turned its head since the party entered the treeline. The druid's Speak with Plants returns nothing but a low, grinding sound, like a root pulling free of frozen soil.
