This is pose 01 of our Troll Mutant range by Novaminis — and it sets the tone for the entire series. Hunched low in a predatory crouch, this mutant troll clutches a humanoid skull in one hand while the other reaches out with grotesquely elongated, curling claws. Its face is a nightmare of oversized teeth and warped bone, half-curtained by lank, dragging hair. Stitched hide hangs from its frame in ragged panels — trophies, armour, or both — and nodules of corrupted flesh cluster along its torso and limbs. Every surface of this sculpt tells a story of something that should have died long ago and simply didn't.
Where a standard troll is savage and blunt, this variant carries something more unsettling: a stillness, a terrible patience. It would suit a creature touched by dark magic, a swamp-dwelling monstrosity, or a recurring threat that the party cannot seem to finish off — the kind of encounter that haunts a campaign for sessions afterwards.
Particularly well suited to adventurers who:
- Need a troll that reads as genuinely threatening on the tabletop, not just large
- Are running swamp, dungeon, or Underdark encounters where horror matters as much as challenge

Encounter Hook:
The party tracks a missing patrol into the fen and finds their armour — neatly stacked in a circle around the creature, which sits in the centre like a throne. It doesn't stand when it sees them. It just picks up the skull it was already holding and waits to see what they do next.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale, unpainted and ready for priming. Available with or without a plain black round base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Each miniature is individually quality-checked, though minor support marks are occasionally possible with the nature of the process; these are straightforward to clean up.
