Description

He does not rise to greet visitors. He does not need to — the ravens on his throne do the announcing, and the axe does the rest.

  • ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table

This is no mere cave-dwelling brute. The Troll Gate Guard is a warlord in repose: seated upon a rune-etched stone throne flanked by two carved hammer finials, with three ravens perched about him like heralds of doom. His armour is layered and scarred, draped over a frame of colossal muscle and barely-contained menace. In his right hand he holds a massive jagged axe — the kind that doesn't swing cleanly, but that's rather the point. His expression is a snarl caught mid-contempt, daring anyone to announce themselves at his gate.

The sculpt is packed with Nordic and runic detail — knotwork panels on the throne back, rune inscriptions along the seat and base, scaled fur across the chest, and rocky rubble crushed underfoot. This is a miniature that reads as a story before a single die is rolled. Whether you're painting it as a campaign BBEG, a tribal chieftain, or an ancient troll warden who has held his post for three hundred years, the character is already there in the sculpt.

This model is sized larger than standard 32mm scale — the base is 80mm — making it a genuine display-scale centrepiece as well as a powerful encounter piece. It works equally well as a painted showpiece on a collector's shelf or as a table-dominating boss monster in your next session.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a commanding BBEG or warlord for a Norse-themed or savage frontier campaign
  • Want a display-scale troll miniature worthy of a painting project centrepiece
  • Are building a troll warband with a clear chieftain at the top
  • Collect large-format fantasy miniatures for shelf display
  • Run encounters where the monster has clearly been sitting in power for a very long time

Encounter Hook:
The party reaches the mountain gate at dusk. Seated before the iron doors is something immense — armoured, raven-crowned, and very much awake. It raises the axe slowly, rests it across one knee, and speaks a single word in a tongue older than the kingdom. The ravens turn their heads. Whatever that word meant, the gate does not open.
