This is pose 3 of our Troglodyte range from Yasashii Kyojin Studio — and it is arguably the most visceral of the set. The sculpt depicts a powerfully built, reptilian Troglodyte in a full rearing stance, head thrown back with its wide maw open to the ceiling. Four long-clawed arms splay outward and upward, each hand curled into grasping, rending shapes. Heavy overlapping scales run across the shoulders and upper back, whilst the torso is a mass of corded muscle. The lower legs carry bony protrusions and thick clawed feet root the pose in a weight that communicates real physical threat. A prominent spiked tail sweeps behind one leg, completing the silhouette of something that hunts by instinct and kills without hesitation.

For Dungeon Masters running Underdark campaigns, this mini fills the role of ambush predator, territorial alpha, or lair guardian without needing a word of introduction. Place it at the centre of a fighting retreat, use it as the largest specimen of a pack, or let it serve as a standalone display piece that captures the primal menace of D&D's most overlooked humanoid threat. The detail in the musculature and scale work rewards careful painting — washes and dry-brushing will bring out every ridge and hollow on this sculpt.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Run Underdark or cave-system encounters and need a physically imposing Troglodyte threat
  • Want a multi-limbed creature mini that reads as genuinely dangerous on the table
  • Are working on a Troglodyte warband and need a distinct alpha or champion pose
  • Collect and paint creature minis with strong anatomical detail

Encounter Hook:
The party tracks a missing mining crew into the tunnels below the Duskstone Quarry. Three days of silence, then the first body — draped high on a stalactite, stripped to the bone. Before anyone can speak, the click of claws on wet stone echoes from four directions at once, and a single enormous Troglodyte rises from the dark ahead, head raised, arms wide, letting out a cry that answers the darkness behind them.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed prior to dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before priming.
