These trip wire trap terrain pieces are the kind of table detail that makes a dungeon feel genuinely dangerous. Sculpted with convincing wooden plank bases, weathered grain lines, and sturdy post fittings, they work just as well placed conspicuously in a dimly lit corridor as hidden beneath a loose scatter of leaves in a forest ambush. Two variants are included: one features bare wooden posts awaiting a wire of your choice, and the second shows the rope already strung between the posts — evocative and immediately readable during play.
Whether you use them to mark an active hazard, signal a Perception check prompt to your players, or simply dress the table with that extra layer of environmental threat, these pieces earn their place in any DM's scatter collection. Equally suited to dungeon rooms, woodland paths, bandit camps, or the corridors of a crumbling keep.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run dungeons and want tactile hazard markers on the battle map
- Love scatter terrain that rewards attentive players
- Build immersive encounter setups for D&D, Pathfinder, or other TTRPGs
- Collect and paint environmental details for dioramas or display scenes
Encounter Hook:
The party are moving fast through the old smugglers' tunnels, torches low and nerves fraying. The fighter rounds the corner first — and the Ranger's hand shoots out just in time. There, barely visible in the half-light, a taut rope runs shin-height between two timber stakes. Someone set this recently. Someone who knew they were being followed.
Details
What's included:
Two trip wire trap scatter terrain pieces at 32mm scale. One variant features open wooden posts (pre-wire); the second shows a rope strung between the posts. The post-only variant comes as a single attached piece. The rope variant includes a detachable base that can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Both pieces are ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box. Some minor imperfections from the printing process are possible — these are easily tidied up before painting.

Mitz rolled Charisma. Simz rolled Charisma. Both succeeded. The humans had no say in any of this.
