Tree 06 by Novaminis is a delightfully unsettling dual-purpose terrain piece that blurs the line between scenery and monster. In its leaf-cloaked form, it presents as a dense, hunched mound of layered bark-like scales and curling leaf-tips, stooped low on gnarled root-feet — the kind of thing your players will eye nervously from the moment it appears on the map. Strip it back and it becomes a bare, reaching winter tree with twisted bark and splayed surface roots, equally at home in a haunted forest, a blighted vale, or the outskirts of a cursed settlement. Both sculpts share the same richly detailed surface texture, giving your painter plenty to work with whether you're going for deep forest greens or frost-bleached greys.
This is sculpt 06 from the Novaminis Tree range — a characterful addition that works equally well as passive scenery, a hidden shambling mound, or a treant waiting for its cue. Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a druid through the Thornwood for two days when their ranger notices it — the trees don't have roots that end in claws. One of the six twisted shapes surrounding the campsite shifts its weight. Initiative is rolled. The players realise, with dawning horror, that they stopped counting the trees three shapes ago.
Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or use it as-is for an unpainted resin look. Minor imperfections from the printing process are possible; any trace support marks are easily tidied up. If you'd like a different scale, just get in touch.
