Caryd is no ordinary forest creature. This Treant Stalker is a quadrupedal horror of interlaced wood grain, flowing bark tendrils, and grasping root-limbs — sculpted with extraordinary organic detail that captures something deeply feral and deeply unnatural in equal measure. Its body ripples with layered wooden fibres, each strand flowing like muscle beneath bark, while trails of vine and root spill across the base as though the forest floor itself is part of the creature. The head is lowered, jaw parted, every line of its posture communicating the coiled readiness of something that has been watching your party for far longer than you realised.
For Dungeon Masters running Feywild campaigns or ancient woodland encounters, Caryd fills the role of a territory guardian gone feral — something the druids once revered and now fear. It works equally well as a unique monster, a corrupted nature spirit, or the physical manifestation of a dying forest's wrath. Off the table, the density of sculpted detail — bark striations, cascading tendril flows, broken undergrowth on the base — makes this a genuinely rewarding display piece for collectors and painters alike.
Built for adventurers who:
- Run Feywild arcs or ancient forest campaigns and need a creature with real presence
- Want a nature-horror monster that sits between beast and treant in concept
- Are looking for a centrepiece encounter creature with exceptional surface detail for painting
- Collect display-worthy fantasy miniatures from independent sculptors
Encounter Hook:
The druid circle warned the party that something had been killing the guardian beasts of the Thornwood — but the tracks they find are not those of a hunter. They are those of something that moves like a predator and roots like a tree, and the moss-covered ribcage nearby belongs to a creature that never heard it coming.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The miniature and scenic base are separate pieces, designed to be attached with superglue — the base integrates with the model's root tendrils, so we recommend dry-fitting before bonding. Arrives ready for priming and painting, or use it straight from the box.
