Description

It rose from the shallows where no construct should walk — barnacled, runic, and utterly purposeful, extending one broad fin-limb as though demanding passage or tribute from those foolish enough to approach.

  • ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table

The Treachery of Whales is a creature of drowned artifice — part crustacean, part golem, all menace. Covered from its bulbous helm to its squat, sea-worn legs in layered shell-plates, barnacle clusters, and deeply etched runes, this construct carries the aesthetic of something built at the bottom of a forgotten ocean trench. One arm is raised and outstretched, presenting a broad disc-like appendage carved with tidal sigils, as though issuing a challenge — or casting a ward. Coral growths, sea-grass, and scattered artefacts populate the intricately detailed base, placing this creature firmly in a submerged or coastal ruin encounter.

Whether you're running an underwater arc, a coastal dungeon, or a mystery centred on a lost empire of the deep, this display-scale miniature commands the table the moment it appears. It's equally at home on a collector's shelf, where the depth of the sculpt rewards a careful, layered paint job.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a visually distinctive BBEG or guardian construct for coastal or underwater encounters
  • Are building a campaign around sunken cities, drowned ruins, or tidal magic
  • Want a centrepiece model that doubles as a collector's display piece
  • Enjoy painting complex organic-mechanical textures — barnacles, runic plates, and sea-weathered shell

Encounter Hook:
The party's salvage contract seemed straightforward until the temple's outer guardian surfaced — a rune-plated construct the size of a sea-chest, palm outstretched, demanding they speak the correct tidal phrase or be driven back beneath the waves. No one in the party reads Abyssal. Time is running short.

Details

This model is supplied at a larger-than-standard display scale (approximately 80mm base) as intended by the artist — designed to function as a boss-scale centrepiece rather than a standard encounter piece. If you'd like adjusted scaling, get in touch and we'll see what we can do. The base is included detached and can be attached with a small amount of glue.
