Tortle by Monster Atlas
Description
Ancient as the tides and twice as unyielding, the Tortle warrior has walked the world long enough to know that a good axe and a stout shield are worth more than any wizard's spell.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This Tortle is a formidable presence on any tabletop — a hulking, broad-shouldered reptilian warrior whose natural shell serves as both armour and identity. Thick-wristed and battle-worn, he carries a crude stone-headed axe and a banded wooden buckler, his spiked pauldrons and wrapped linen garb hinting at a life spent earning every scar. The sculpt captures that distinctive Tortle stoicism — heavy-lidded eyes, a set jaw, and the quiet confidence of someone who has absolutely been hit harder than this before. The reverse reveals a beautifully detailed domed shell, plated in segments with a naturalistic texture that rewards close inspection and makes for a rewarding paint job.
Whether you're running a coastal campaign, a wetlands hex-crawl, or introducing a wandering Tortle Monk or Fighter as a player character, this sculpt does the heavy lifting. It reads immediately as both a credible threat and a compelling PC — versatile enough for the encounter table or the display shelf.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a characterful Tortle PC mini for a Monk, Fighter, or Barbarian build
- Are running coastal, river delta, or jungle encounters that need a memorable NPC
- Enjoy painting natural textures — shell plates, wrinkled green skin, and rough-hewn stone weapons
- Collect humanoid warrior minis for display or diorama use
Encounter Hook:
The river village has been paying tribute to something that moves through the marsh at low tide — leaving enormous three-toed tracks and the wreckage of overturned fishing boats. When the party finally corners the culprit in a reed-choked inlet, they find not a monster but a Tortle elder, axe and shield raised, who simply says: "You are the third group they have sent. The others did not ask questions first."
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and base are separate pieces — a small amount of super glue brings them together cleanly. Some models interact with their base, so we recommend attaching it for the best presentation. Each mini is printed at high resolution and arrives with supports removed; minor surface marks are possible and easily tidied up before priming. Ready to prime and paint straight out of the box.
