Torsus the River God is a large-scale collector's bust depicting a crocodilian deity of unmistakable presence. The sculpt shows a heavily textured reptilian head — scales layered across a broad, snarling snout lined with exposed fangs — rising from a muscular neck draped in rough-hewn cloth and bound with cord. A tattered cloak or shroud sweeps behind the figure, framing the piece with dramatic, tattered weight. The base is a chunky stone plinth with studded metalwork detailing, giving the whole composition the gravitas of an ancient idol unearthed from a river temple. Every surface invites a painter's brush: from the fine scale texture of the muzzle to the worn fabric folds and the weathered stonework beneath.

As a bust rather than a standard gaming piece, Torsus is built for display and painting projects first — showcasing expression, texture, and technique on a scale that a 32mm mini simply cannot. That said, he carries enormous narrative weight for any DM running a campaign with ancient river cults, yuan-ti factions, or nature gods gone feral. Place him on your shelf as a finished centrepiece, or let him stare down your players across the table as a reminder of what lurks in the shallows.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Want a detailed, large-scale painting project with exceptional surface variety
  • Are building a fantasy bust or creature collection for display
  • Need a god, idol, or monstrous patron for their D&D or TTRPG campaign
  • Are looking for a gift piece that will genuinely turn heads on a shelf

Encounter Hook:
The party's river barge runs aground on a silt flat deep in the jungle. As the crew begins to push off, one of the players notices the eyes of a stone idol on the far bank — carved in the likeness of a great crocodile — have turned to face the boat. No one saw them move. The offerings piled at its base are fresh.

This listing is for the bust sculpt at collector display scale, presented on an integrated stone plinth base. The piece is supplied unpainted and unassembled if required. Our prints are produced at high resolution to faithfully reproduce the sculptor's original detail.
