Description
Something moves in the burial vault — tall, hollow-chested, its torso split wide into a ringed maw of teeth, dragging a war hammer across the flagstones with a slow and deliberate rhythm.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The Tomb Tapper is not undead. It does not haunt — it hunts. This grotesque aberration stands upright on clawed feet, its elongated limbs stretched to unsettling proportions, its narrow skull tapering to a point above a body that opens where a chest should be. That circular, tooth-ringed cavity is the feature that makes adventurers hesitate at the threshold: it yawns wide, layered with rings of inward-curving teeth, somewhere between lamprey and void. The war hammer it drags is ornate and heavy, a weapon it clearly did not forge — something taken, like so much else, from those who came before it.
For Dungeon Masters, the Tomb Tapper slots naturally into dungeons, ancient necropolises, and Underdark warrens as a territorial predator rather than a summoned servant. Use it as a wandering threat, a guardian of something the party desperately needs, or simply the thing that explains why the last expedition never came back. It works equally well as an encounter centrepiece or as a display piece for collectors drawn to the weirder corners of creature design.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a distinctive aberration encounter that isn't a beholder or mindflayer
- Are building crypts, tomb complexes, or Underdark campaigns
- Want a monster that prompts a genuine moment of "what even is that" at the table
- Collect or paint creatures with unusual anatomy and strong silhouettes
Encounter Hook:
The excavation team hired to clear Vault Seven of the Ashenmoore Necropolis sent back one message before going silent: "Something is already living here — and it knows we're counting the exits." When the party descends to investigate, the Tomb Tapper is waiting at the bottom of the stairs, hammer resting on the ground, that hollow chest wide open and absolutely still.
Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Ready to prime and paint straight away, or use as-is on the table.
