This is Mia Kay's Tinkerer Travelling Cart — a richly detailed mobile market stall that brings an entire merchant's livelihood to your table in one gloriously cluttered piece. The sculpt is packed with narrative: a carved sign bearing the shopkeeper's name, barrels stacked beneath the counter, rows of tagged wares hanging from the shelves, rope-wrapped posts, spoked wagon wheels, and twin ornate lanterns swaying from the eaves. The oversized decorative padlock hanging from the fascia is the kind of detail that makes players lean in and ask questions — which is exactly what good terrain should do.
Whether it's parked in a busy town square, tucked into a forest trail, or serving as the centrepiece of a marketplace ambush, this cart transforms any encounter location into a scene with history. It's equally at home as a standalone display piece, painted up in warm wood tones and glowing lantern hues.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Are building immersive town, market, or wilderness encounter maps
- Need a wandering merchant NPC to anchor a roleplaying scene
- Want a focal scatter piece with genuine narrative presence
- Enjoy detailed painting projects with rich surface texture
- Collect TTRPG terrain for display as well as gaming
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking the fence who sold stolen artefacts across three towns — and the description always mentions a cart with a large padlock sign. As they enter the next village, they spot it parked near the inn, lanterns already lit, the proprietor eyeing them with a little too much calm for someone who wasn't expecting visitors.
Scaled to 32mm and supplied unpainted, ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin terrain, minor surface marks are possible and can be cleaned up easily. The model is fully cured and ready to use or paint as received.
