The Tiamat Wyrmling from MZ4250's 2025 Monster Manual range is a genuinely striking sculpt — five serpentine necks rising from a single scaled body, each head distinct and snarling, wings spread wide in a posture that communicates pure draconic dominance. This is not a diminutive creature begging to be underestimated. Even at wyrmling scale, the Queen of Evil Dragons announces herself.
The sculpt captures all five chromatic heads with remarkable clarity — the central head roaring upward, outer heads fanning to either side, each with its own expression of menace. The scaled body is thick and hunched forward, clawed feet gripping the ground, and the twin wings arch outward to frame the whole composition. It's a miniature that holds your attention from across the table.
Whether you're running a cult of Tiamat worshippers who've somehow secured an egg, staging a climactic encounter in the Nine Hells, or simply want a five-headed draconic centrepiece for your display shelf, this wyrmling punches well above its lore-implied age.
- Adventurers running Avernus or Tiamat-focused campaign arcs
- Dungeon Masters who want a memorable mid-tier dragon encounter with serious visual weight
- Painters who want a technically rewarding multi-head sculpt to showcase chromatic colour blending
- Collectors building out a dragon-focused display with a thematically iconic piece
Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the Temple of the Chromatic Conclave to find the high priest cradling a wyrmling — five heads snapping independently, each already breathing a different elemental threat. The cultists believe it is a sign of Tiamat's imminent ascension. They are not wrong.
