Sultan Hakim is a ruler who has never needed to draw his own sword, though he keeps one close enough to remind visitors that he could. This richly detailed throne scene captures him at the height of his authority: armoured in layered chainmail and ornate plate, one hand resting on the hilt of a curved blade, the other cradling a goblet with the ease of a man who has already won. To his left, a courtier reclines against an elaborate vase; to his right, a masked attendant crouches, ever watchful. The throne itself is a masterwork of carved stone lattice — geometric diamond motifs, twisted column supports, and a towering backrest crowned with intricate relief work that speaks of old power and older money.
