Ninbus is an Avangion: the rarest and most awe-inspiring transformation a preserving mage can achieve, a being of pure arcane transcendence. Where defilers drain the land to ash, the Avangion draws power from life itself — becoming something between deity and insect, crowned with chitinous horns, draped in cascading organic fronds, and borne aloft on vast membranous wings. This sculpt captures Ninbus mid-ascension, one clawed hand raised as though bending reality to his will, his elongated alien head tilted with the cold composure of something that has long since outgrown fear.
The three available poses each capture a different facet of this being's presence — from full frontal display with both wings spread wide, to a more grounded three-quarter stance with a single swept wing, to a contemplative upward gaze that speaks of something being calculated far beyond the party's understanding. All three are mounted on detailed rubble-strewn decorative bases that anchor this towering figure to the battlefield or display shelf with equal conviction. Whether you need a campaign-defining villain, a Dark Sun-inspired transcendent NPC, or a showpiece for your display collection, Ninbus earns his place at the table.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Dark Sun or desert wasteland campaigns and want a genuinely distinctive centrepiece encounter
- Need a high-CR spellcasting boss that reads as alien and otherworldly on the tabletop
- Are building a display collection of extraordinary fantasy figures
- Want to portray a Thri-Kreen ascendant, a transformed archmage, or a god-touched entity
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve a stolen artefact from the ruins of a dead city — but when they arrive, they find Ninbus already there, hovering silently above the wreckage. He does not acknowledge them for a long moment. When he finally speaks, it is not to threaten them, but to ask: "Have you come to watch, or to be useful?" Whatever he is building in these ruins, he needs something only the party can provide — and his patience is not infinite.
