This bundle brings together two distinct thrall sculpts from Novaminis, each capturing a different stage of the compulsion that drains a person of volition and replaces it with servitude. Thrall 01 is a female figure with long tangled hair, leather trousers stitched up the leg, and bare arms crossed with old scarring. She leans forward with clawing hands and a glazed, distant expression — caught mid-stalk, neither fully aware nor fully gone. The detail on her worn clothing and the rawness of her posture makes her equally convincing as a vampire's minion or a mind-controlled villager whose story the party has yet to uncover.
Thrall 02 is a male figure in loose linen trousers, barefoot and dishevelled, with a blank open-mouthed expression and scarring running the length of one arm. His posture is hunched and lurching — one hand drawn tight to his abdomen, the other hanging loose at his side — the body language of someone fighting against a compulsion they cannot name and cannot win. The contrast between his ordinary clothing and his hollow, terrified face is where the horror lives.
Together, these two thralls make for a cohesive encounter group or a pair of tragic NPCs whose rescue might drive an entire session. Both sculpts carry Novaminis' characteristic attention to human expression and body language, making them as useful for roleplay encounters as for combat.
Suitable for adventurers who:
- Run Ravenloft, gothic horror, or vampire-focused campaigns
- Want varied undead humanoid miniatures that read as tragic rather than monstrous
- Need compelled civilians, controlled townsfolk, or vampire servants on the table
- Enjoy painting expressive faces and worn, everyday clothing with dark undertones
- Are building out a vampire lord's retinue or a harrowing rescue scenario
Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to find a missing herbalist from the village of Varenholm. They track her to a crumbling estate on the moor's edge — and find her outside the gate, still in her apron, eyes vacant, waiting. Beside her stands a man in linen, barefoot on the frost-hardened ground, knuckles white at his side. Neither speaks. Neither moves to let the party pass. Inside, candlelight shifts behind a high window. Something is watching to see what the party will do.
