This is Spore Court Minion 02 — the club-raised variant of the Spore Court warband sculpted by Great Grimoire. Where Minion 01 advances with weapon low, this one has its bone club hauled back overhead, mid-swing and grinning with that wide, toothy leer that never quite sits right beneath the pale, pockmarked mushroom cap. It's a small but meaningful difference in pose that makes the two variants work brilliantly together on the table as a charging group.

The sculpt packs a great deal of character into a compact form. The wide-brimmed cap dominates the silhouette, its lumpy surface textured with irregular bumps and divots that will catch a drybrush beautifully. Beneath it, that unsettling grin — all teeth, no eyes visible — gives the mini a distinctly uncanny quality, sitting somewhere between jovial and threatening. The body is stocky and barefoot, draped in a rough leaf-cloth wrap tied at the waist, with carved foliage detailing that rewards careful layering with greens and ochres.

As a stand-alone encounter piece or part of a larger Spore Court group, this minion works for myconid-adjacent encounters, Underdark fungi colonies, Feywild fungal courts, or any wilderness encounter where the party expects nature to be a little more hostile than usual. Painted pale cream with a blush of pink or lavender on the cap, or gone full amanita with bold red and white — either direction makes for a memorable table presence.

This mini suits adventurers who:

  • Are building a mushroom-folk warband or Spore Court encounter group
  • Run forest, Underdark, or Feywild-themed D&D and Pathfinder campaigns
  • Want an unusual, characterful creature that doesn't appear in standard monster lines
  • Enjoy painting organic textures — caps, leaf cloth, and earthy skin tones
  • Are collecting the full Great Grimoire Spore Court range

Encounter Hook

The party follows a trail of luminous spores deeper into the Whispering Wood, expecting to find the missing herbalist. Instead, they walk into a clearing where seven pale-capped figures stand perfectly still — until the largest one raises its club and grins. The Spore Court has a new harvest in mind, and the party just volunteered.
