Description

He does not cast spells carelessly — every syllable he speaks has been weighed against centuries of forbidden scholarship, and the tome in his hand contains knowledge that was never meant to leave the vault.

  • ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table

The Scholar is a figure of quiet menace and arcane authority. His tattered robes billow as he strides forward, one hand gripping an ornate winged staff topped with a twin-pronged blade, the other clutching an open tome as though mid-incantation. The deeply shadowed face beneath that tall, battered witch's hat suggests a man who has spent far too long in places where the light does not reach — and has come to prefer it that way. Every detail of the sculpt speaks to obsession: layered robes worn thin at the edges, a belt heavy with arcane paraphernalia, and a base that suggests cracked stone and the residue of old rituals.

Whether you cast him as a reclusive archmage gone wrong, the true architect behind a cult your party has been dismantling for months, or a BBEG whose opening monologue your players will genuinely dread, The Scholar commands the table. He works equally well as an imposing display piece — the kind of miniature that earns a dedicated spot on the shelf.

Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a BBEG whose presence alone signals the stakes have changed
  • Are running a campaign involving forbidden magic, arcane conspiracies, or secret societies
  • Want a named NPC with gravitas — a quest-giver, rival, or final revelation
  • Are looking for a challenging and rewarding display-scale painting project

Encounter Hook:
The party finally reaches the inner sanctum of the Pale Covenant — and there he is, standing at the altar with his back to them, reading aloud from the tome as though he heard nothing. He closes the book slowly, tucks it under his arm, and turns. "I wondered," he says, "how long it would take you to find me. I have been waiting. There are things you need to understand before this ends."

This miniature is printed at a larger display scale — the base measures 80mm, making The Scholar a genuinely imposing centrepiece figure rather than a standard 32mm character. The base is supplied detached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. The miniature arrives ready for priming and painting, or can be used as-is straight from the box.
