  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

The Scholar is a bust sculpted with remarkable narrative weight. A towering, ragged witch's hat sits atop a face — or what might be a face — shrouded entirely in hanging tendrils of cloth or perhaps something more organic. The figure's chest is clad in layered, rune-carved armour adorned with wing-like protrusions and angular geometric symbols, suggesting a scholar who long ago crossed the line between knowledge and power. This is the kind of piece that rewards a careful painter: the contrast between the coarse woven hat, the flowing drapery, and the sharp-edged armour below offers a genuinely varied palette of textures to work across.

Whether you're imagining a lich in an early stage of transformation, a secretive archmage who's sworn off faces, or a patron figure who knows far more than he's letting on, The Scholar has the presence to anchor a display shelf or spark a whole campaign's worth of intrigue.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Want a display bust with dramatic texture variety and strong painting potential
  • Are building a collection of dark or arcane fantasy busts
  • Need a memorable NPC — an unsettling patron, a forgotten sage, or a villain mid-transformation
  • Appreciate character pieces that sit equally well on a hobby shelf and in a DM's notes

Encounter Hook:
The party has been summoned to a tower library by a figure known only as The Scholar. He sits with his back turned, hat nearly scraping the raftered ceiling, fingers resting on a tome that hasn't been opened in a century. When he finally speaks, he knows the name of every character — including the ones they haven't told anyone. He has a job for them. He will not take no for an answer.

Details

This is a display bust, scaled and proportioned for painting and collection rather than standard tabletop play — though it makes an evocative centrepiece for narrative scenes or an NPC prop at the table. Supplied unpainted in grey resin on a detailed sculpted plinth base. Printed at high resolution with supports removed; minor surface marks are possible on complex sculpts and can be cleaned up with standard hobby tools.
