The Wailthirst is one of those creatures that unsettles players before a single die is rolled. Part humanoid, part something far older and hungrier, it moves with the coiled aggression of a predator mid-pounce — horns swept back, skull-visage splitting into a serpentine tongue, arms bound with rope and adorned with the trophies of things it has already killed. This is not a demon that rules from a throne. This is a demon that hunts.
Great Grimoire's sculpt captures three distinct poses across the Wailthirst range, each depicting a different moment in its terrible momentum. This listing presents all three variants: one mid-leap with blade extended and claws raking the air, one crouched low with blade angled overhead and grasping hand reaching forward, and one in a wide combat stance with twin blades drawn and a bundle of skulls lashed to its belt — trophies from hunts long past. The detailing across all three is exceptional: braided rope bindings, articulated claw-feet, layered armour plates, and that extraordinary skull-mask face that sits somewhere between battlefield trophy and fused anatomy.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a fast, predatory demon as a boss encounter or mid-tier elite threat
- Are running campaigns with Abyssal incursions, fiend-infested ruins, or planar rifts
- Want a demon that reads as cunning and dangerous rather than lumbering
- Collect high-detail fiend miniatures for display alongside painted armies
- Play warlocks or antipaladins with a demonic patron to manifest on the table
Encounter Hook:
The party was hired to retrieve a scholar taken by cultists near the old quarry — but when they find the ritual site, the cultists are already dead, their skulls arranged in a neat circle around a crouching figure with horns and a wide, tooth-filled grin. It looks up slowly. It has been waiting.
The Wailthirst is scaled to 35mm. If you'd prefer 32mm scaling, send us a message and we'll adjust it for you. A decorative base option is available — if selected, please send a note specifying which of the three base styles you'd like. Both plain and decorative bases come separate and attach easily with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin work, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be tidied up before priming.
