The King is a towering aberration lord, sculpted for Dungeon Masters who need a final-act villain that stops the table cold. His spiked crown and glowing orb-set chest hint at something ancient and entirely beyond reason — a being who rules not by conquest but by the slow, irresistible erosion of will. The lower half of his robes dissolves into churning tentacles and unseen forms, as though the very ground beneath him has surrendered to his presence. On one side, a monstrous ram skull and curling horns erupt from his robes; on the other, articulated chitinous limbs reach outward with deliberate, alien grace. Every surface is etched with runes and organic detail that rewards both painters and collectors willing to look closely.
Whether you run him as an elder brain's physical avatar, a lich who traded humanity for something far worse, or an abyssal sovereign from a plane your players were never meant to reach, The King commands the table in a way few miniatures manage. He is equally at home on a display shelf as he is at the centre of your most climactic encounter.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a boss-level aberration or underdark tyrant with genuine menace on the tabletop
- Are building a mind flayer colony, elder brain cult, or eldritch horror campaign arc
- Want a centrepiece miniature that doubles as a display piece between sessions
- Love detail-rich sculpts that make painting a genuine pleasure
Encounter Hook:
The party is hired to investigate a fortified monastery where the monks have stopped responding to messages. Arriving, they find the brothers alive — but all seated in perfect silence, faces upturned, eyes vacant, slowly mouthing the same unknowable syllables in unison. At the head of the nave, enthroned on the altar, sits The King. He has been expecting them. He has been expecting them for a very long time.
