The Heartlock Rook is one of those miniatures that stops a table cold the moment it hits the mat. Squat and broad-shouldered in the fashion of something built rather than born, it wears layered plate armour decorated with a prominent keyhole crest at the chest — a symbol both heraldic and deeply unsettling. Its head is not a head in any conventional sense: a crenellated tower-crown sits where a face should be, cut through with heart-shaped apertures that hint at something locked inside. This is a creature of thresholds and gatekeeping, and every detail of its sculpt communicates that without a word.

The weapon is the centrepiece: an oversized skeleton key, classical in form with a heart-shaped bow, carried resting across the Rook's shoulder as casually as another warrior might carry a poleaxe. The scale of it is deliberate — this is not a tool, it is a statement. The armour itself is studded and segmented, with stone-textured fists that suggest the construct's body is only partly metal, partly something older and stranger. From behind, the key's full length becomes clear, spanning the width of the model and then some, the detail on the bow crisp and clean.
