Rumpelstiltskin — here reimagined as the Devil's Dealer — is the sort of villain who never needs to raise his voice. He arrives mid-grin, one clawed hand raised in a gesture of theatrical generosity, the other hip cocked with easy confidence. Behind him, an enormous contract scroll unfurls dramatically, worn and creased at its edges, still bearing the weight of every terrible bargain ever signed. At his feet, smaller scrolls litter the scenic base — a paper trail of ruined lives and broken oaths. The coat is long and ornate, buttoned neatly at the chest with decorative flourishes, and that devilish tail curls out from beneath it with unmistakable intent. His expression is the worst kind: utterly delighted.
This sculpt comes from DM Stash's Tales Grimm collection — a dark reimagining of fairy-tale archetypes through a TTRPG lens. Rumpelstiltskin makes a compelling BBEG for a campaign built around forbidden bargains, fey courts gone wrong, or infernal contract law. He could equally serve as a recurring manipulator — always one step ahead, always offering something the party desperately wants, always at a price they'll spend three sessions regretting.
The sculpt is multipart and comes with both a decorative scenic base and a plain base option, giving you flexibility for gaming use or display presentation.
- Works as the centrepiece BBEG of a fey bargain campaign arc
- Equally effective as a recurring NPC trickster who always has the upper hand
- The oversized scroll and decorative base make this a centrepiece painting project
- Suits adventurers building out fairy-tale or dark folklore themed collections
Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to recover a stolen deed from a notorious contract broker known only as "The Dealer." They track him to a crumbling tower where he sits waiting — grinning, scroll in hand — and calmly informs them that the deed is already signed in their names. He'll tear it up, of course. For a price.
