The Crawling Pawns are among the more unsettling constructs Great Grimoire has brought to the table — not because they are monstrous in the conventional sense, but because they are wrong in a very deliberate way. A chess pawn's rounded head sits atop a bound, armoured torso, heavy chains looped across the body and buckled tight. Below the waist, clawed limbs replace anything dignified — these things do not walk. They crawl. Pip and Puck are two named expressions of the same dreadful design: servile, purposeful, and deeply disturbing to behold.

Each variation in this sculpt leans into a subtly different pose — Pip low and spread across the flagstone base, all four limbs outstretched in a wide, ground-hugging crawl; Puck crouching with one arm reaching forward, head bowed, poised between stillness and lunge. The cobblestone-textured base grounds them in a dungeon or urban environment, and the detail across the chainwork, buckled armour panels, and pawn-form head rewards careful painting. These are constructs that beg for a contrast technique on the chains and a grimy wash across the stonework base.
