Thalythrax, the Revenant Inferno is one of the most distinctive undead dragon sculpts you'll encounter — not a dracolich in the traditional sense, but something rawer and more wrong. The body is a hollowed, skeletal serpent-wyrm, its ribcage exposed and its great membranous wings riddled with void-like perforations, as though death itself has eaten through them. The elongated jaws are split wide in a shriek or a roar — it's difficult to tell which, and that ambiguity is precisely what makes it so unsettling. There are no legs, only a long coiling tail that tapers into bone-spur hooks, and a cluster of horns crowns the skull like a cursed halo. This is a creature that shouldn't exist — undead, infernal, and furious about both.
Details
Sculpted at 35mm scale by Great Grimoire, Thalythrax arrives as a grey, unpainted miniature rendered in sharp detail — every hollow wing membrane, every exposed vertebra, and every serrated fang is crisp and ready for the brush. The digital render images show three angles: a three-quarter hero view with close-up details of the skull and tail, a clean side profile showing the full sweep of the wings and coiling body, and a front-on view that captures the full spread of those tattered, skeletal wings. Whether you're painting it as a boss monster or displaying it as a centrepiece, this sculpt earns its place.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Need a commanding undead dragon or draconic fiend for a high-stakes D&D encounter
- Are building Ravenloft, Avernus, or homebrew infernal campaign arcs
- Want a display piece that stops people mid-sentence when they walk into the room
- Are painting collectors drawn to skeletal, necrotic, or decay-themed subjects
Encounter Hook:
The party was hired to retrieve a dragon's skull from the ruins of Vaelthorn Spire — a trophy, nothing more. But someone had already been there. The skull was gone, and in the throne chamber, something vast and hollow was circling the ceiling, its jaws agape, searching for the person who had disturbed its long sleep. Initiative. Now.
Thalythrax is printed at 35mm scale. If you'd prefer 32mm scaling, drop us a message and we'll adjust it for you. A decorative base option is available — if you select it, please send a note specifying which of the three base styles you'd like. Both decorative and plain black bases are supplied separately and attach easily with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all high-detail sculpts, minor marks may occasionally remain but are straightforward to tidy up.
