Description

It looked like a stalagmite. The party had walked past a dozen just like it before one of them opened its eye.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Roper is one of the most devious ambush predators in the Underdark — a creature that has evolved to look exactly like the environment it hunts in. This sculpt by Mia Kay captures that unsettling nature beautifully: a ridged, tapering body rising from a rocky base, a single pale bulging eye set above a wide jaw bristling with jagged teeth, and a crown of writhing tentacles that curl outward in every direction, ready to grapple anything that wanders too close. The texture across the body reads as layered stone and flesh at once — exactly the kind of ambiguity that makes Ropers so terrifying at the table.

Available in two sizes, the smaller figure sits at 32mm scale and makes for a brilliantly detailed encounter piece or a focal point on a collector's shelf. The larger version (shown in the background of the product image) provides a genuinely imposing presence for boss-level encounters or lair set-dressing. Both share the same high-detail sculpt with expressive mouth, detailed tentacles, and that unsettling single eye — suitable for painting projects or use straight from the base.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Run Underdark campaigns and need cave-dwelling ambush predators
  • Want a distinctive, lore-accurate Roper for D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
  • Are building a monster lair or dungeon encounter set
  • Enjoy detailed painting projects with strong texture and clear focal points
  • Collect fantasy creature miniatures for display

Encounter Hook:
The party is three days into the Underdark when they find the remains of a previous expedition — scattered equipment, drag marks leading toward the cave wall, and then silence. The map shows nothing but a wide cavern ahead, its ceiling hung with formations. The paladin's torch catches a glint of moisture on one of them. It blinks.
