This templar cuts an imposing figure — a fully armoured knight wearing a great helm crowned with a jagged sunburst halo, his broad mantle bearing a bold embroidered cross at its centre. A fur-trimmed surcoat falls over chainmail and plate, layered armour that speaks of rank as much as protection. In his hands he grips a long-hafted halberd axe, levelled across his body with the calm confidence of someone who has cleared more than one cathedral of heretics before breakfast.
The sculpt — by Epic Miniatures — rewards careful brushwork. The flat expanse of the cloak is a painter's canvas for freehand or transfer work, and the contrast between the heavy fur collar, the rigid plate at the shoulders, and the flowing fabric below gives plenty of opportunity for varied textures and shading.
