Description

Something ancient and wrong walks the dying wood — bark twisted into a skeletal visage, antler-crowned and clawed, a forest spirit that has long since forgotten what it means to protect.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Tanglewood is a corrupted treant or forest spirit of genuinely unsettling design — part ancient wood, part skeletal horror. The skull-like face peers out from beneath a crown of gnarled antler-like branches, and the entire body is formed from layered bark, exposed wood grain, and twisted limbs that end in wicked raking claws. Coiled vine-rope wraps around the forearms, and the lower half merges into thick trunk-like legs that root into the earth, while tattered cloth hangs around the torso like the last remnant of something once worshipped.

This is printed at 50mm scale — noticeably larger than a standard 32mm miniature — making Tanglewood a commanding presence on any gaming table. The additional scale means every surface detail reads clearly: the deep grain running across the back, the mushroom growths clustered around the base, the layered bark plates of the shoulders and spine. For painters, this is a rewarding project — the contrast between dead wood textures, weathered cloth, and the skull-face lends itself to earthy browns, bleached bone tones, and glowing eyes in amber or rot-green.

As a miniature, Tanglewood works equally well as a corrupted treant, a forest lich, a dryad gone terribly wrong, or a boss encounter lurking at the heart of a cursed woodland. Display collectors will find the sculpt holds its own on any shelf — this is a character with real presence.

Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Run forest or Feywild campaigns with nature-horror themes
  • Need a memorable boss or guardian creature for a cursed wood encounter
  • Are looking for a larger-than-standard centrepiece miniature to paint
  • Want to add a corrupted treant or forest spirit to their collection
  • Enjoy plant-creature encounters that double as striking display pieces

Encounter Hook: The village elder insists the old grove is haunted — but the party's druid senses something worse than a ghost. When they push through the treeline at dusk, the trees thin to a circle of dead trunks, and Tanglewood unfolds from the largest one, skull-face tilting toward them as root-vines begin to rise from the soil. Whatever this spirit was, it no longer remembers mercy.
