Description

Before a Slaad ever tears its way free from a host, it begins as this — a writhing, fang-mouthed tadpole, already hungry, already dangerous, and already wrong in every way that matters.

  • ✔ Multi-miniature bundle — multiple variations in one order
  • ✔ 32mm scale resin, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ All pieces supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Great value for building out encounter groups or display collections

Slaad tadpoles are among the most unsettling creatures in the D&D monster catalogue, and these sculpts capture exactly why. Both Tadpole 01 and Tadpole 02 depict the larval form of a Slaad — a sinuous, serpentine body coiling into a tight S-curve, terminating in a hooked barbed tail on one end and a grotesquely oversized fanged head on the other. Spines ring the skull, the jaws hang open and jagged, and the whole form carries that signature Slaad wrongness: something between amphibian, parasite, and nightmare. The two sculpts offer distinct poses — Tadpole 01 rears upward with its head craning back, while Tadpole 02 holds a lower, striking cobra-like angle — giving you natural variation across a swarm encounter or a sequence of host-emergence scenes.

Together, they make a compelling case for the horror of Limbo's chaos frogs long before the Red, Blue, or Death Slaad ever shows its face. Whether you're running a body-horror arc through the Underdark or populating a sorcerer's corrupted laboratory, these two sculpts work brilliantly as a matched pair.

Brilliant for adventurers who:

  • Want to run a Slaad infestation arc with genuine visual dread at the table
  • Need multiple tadpole sculpts to represent swarm encounters or host-emergence moments
  • Are building a complete Slaad encounter set from tadpole to fully grown chaos frog
  • Enjoy painting aberrant creatures with wet, iridescent skin tones and deep cavity washes
  • Collect Underdark and planar aberration miniatures for display

Encounter Hook:
The party's cleric fails a Perception check as they search the body of a fallen merchant — only the ranger notices the faint writhing beneath the skin of the corpse's forearm, and then a second shape moving near the collarbone. By the time anyone speaks, the first tadpole has already chewed free.

This bundle includes both Slaad Tadpole 01 and Slaad Tadpole 02, sculpted at 32mm scale. Buying as a bundle saves against purchasing each variation individually. Miniatures arrive ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box. We remove supports as standard, though minor marks from the printing process can occasionally occur and are easily tidied up.
