The Daredevil Macaroon is the fourth entry in Great Grimoire's gloriously unsettling Sweet Mimic range, and it may be the most brazen of the lot. Sculpted to resemble a plump, cream-topped macaron, this variant reveals its true nature with gleeful abandon: a writhing mass of eyeballs covers its doughy body, a wide maw bristling with jagged teeth yawns open beneath them, and a pair of chitinous crab claws jut out at the sides, ready to snatch the unwary. A swirl of what might be cream — or something far worse — crowns its head like a baker's flourish gone horribly wrong. This is pose 4 of the Sweet Mimic range, and where earlier variants might catch adventurers off-guard, this one dares them to come closer.

For Dungeon Masters who want to lean into the absurd horror of mimic encounters, the Daredevil Macaroon is a gift. Drop it on a dessert table in a hag's lair, scatter it among a patisserie scene in a cursed city, or use it as the punchline to a very dangerous joke. The sculpt captures that delicious tension between the mundane and the monstrous — it reads as a treat right up until the moment it absolutely does not. Equally at home on a gaming table or a display shelf, this miniature rewards a painter with texture aplenty: the clusters of eyeballs, the ridged macaron shell, and the flowing cream topping all take washes and highlights beautifully.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Run trick encounters, cursed market stalls, or hag-themed dungeon dressing
  • Want a mimic variant that leans into dark comedy and body horror in equal measure
  • Are collecting the full Sweet Mimic range from Great Grimoire
  • Paint miniatures with unusual textures and enjoy a challenge worth the effort
  • Display miniatures that spark a conversation — or a shriek

Encounter Hook:
The party has been invited to a banquet hosted by the Countess of the Amber Veil — a woman whose generosity is as legendary as her peculiar taste in table decorations. The dessert course arrives: an elaborate tower of macarons in every colour. One of them hasn't stopped watching the rogue since they sat down. When the Fighter reaches for it, roll initiative.

Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. Printed at 32mm scale — if you'd prefer a different scale, send us a message and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Supports are removed as standard; as with all resin prints, minor marks may occasionally occur and are easily tidied up before painting.
