Swamp Terrain by Mia Kay M3DM
Description
The party steps off the trade road and into the mire — the ground gives way underfoot, and somewhere beneath the rustling reed beds, something is watching.
- ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This swamp scatter piece from Mia Kay M3DM captures a compact boggy outcrop bristling with cattail reeds in various stages of growth — some tightly budded, others fully formed. The base depicts waterlogged, rope-textured ground, subtly contoured to suggest earth that doesn't quite hold its shape. It's the sort of terrain detail that tells a story before a single dice is rolled.
Whether you're building out a lizardfolk ambush site, a will-o'-wisp haunt, or the edge of a flooded ruin, this piece adds immediate environmental storytelling to your battlefield. It works equally well as a painted display piece or as a raw, unprimed scatter element dropped straight onto the table.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Build immersive wilderness and wetland battle maps
- Want scatter terrain that adds cover and atmosphere without dominating the scene
- Are working on dioramas, painted display boards, or photography setups
- Play campaigns set in swamps, bayous, river deltas, or flooded ruins
Encounter Hook:
The yuan-ti scouts have been moving through the marshes for days, and your players have finally picked up their trail — but as they push into the reed beds at dusk, the ground shifts beneath the lead adventurer's boots. A perception check reveals shapes in the water. Initiative is called. The cattails are the last cover between the party and whatever is about to surface.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or usable as-is for a natural, unpainted aesthetic. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor surface marks are possible and easily tidied with fine sandpaper or a craft knife.
