Description

Before the walls of Asgard fell, Surtr stood at the vanguard — his crown of living flame announcing the end of all things.

  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

This is Surtr as he deserves to be depicted: a figure of terrible authority, his brow furrowed with ancient fury and his hair erupting into open flame. The sculpt captures him mid-glower, clad in heavy plate armour that bears the marks of aeons of war — riveted panels, cracked surfaces, and a gorget wide enough to suggest the sheer scale of the being beneath. The flame that crowns him isn't decorative; it flows upward with genuine movement, a reminder that this is no mere warrior but a force of elemental destruction given form.

As a bust, this piece is designed to reward the painter and the collector equally. The surface detail — from the deep-set wrinkles of Surtr's expression to the texture of battered metal — offers exceptional opportunity for layering, OSL flame work, and object source lighting from the crown. For Dungeon Masters, it makes a commanding visual prop or display piece to set the tone for any campaign featuring giants, fire elementals, or apocalyptic villainy.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Want a large-scale painting project with genuinely expressive detail
  • Are building a display collection centred on giants, Norse mythology, or elemental powers
  • Need a visual anchor for a D&D campaign featuring fire giants, Surtr-inspired BBEGs, or planar threats
  • Are looking for a centrepiece gift for a painter or collector in their group

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve a stolen Rune of Binding from the vault of a fire giant warlord — but as they breach the inner sanctum, they find a bust of Surtr himself on the altar, still warm to the touch, and the warlord kneeling before it. Whatever the giants are preparing for, it is not a raid. It is a ritual.

Details

This is a display bust, scaled generously for painters and collectors rather than standard 32mm tabletop use. It comes mounted on a detailed stone-effect base integral to the sculpt. Printed to a high level of detail; support marks are removed as part of our process, though minor surface imperfections inherent to the medium may occasionally remain and are straightforward to clean up before painting.
