This summoning circle scatter piece from Mia Kay M3DM is a richly detailed arcane disc, carved with a layered star-within-star geometric pattern, a spiralling labyrinthine centre, and six runic sigils set into circular recesses around the inner frame. The outer edge is worn and uneven, as though the stone itself has been warped by repeated use. Every groove and glyph tells the story of a magic older than your players' characters — and far less concerned with their wellbeing.
Whether it marks the site of a devil's bargain, a planar rift torn open by a reckless wizard, or the focal point of a cult's midnight rite, this piece transforms a flat encounter space into a location with genuine menace. It works equally well as a centrepiece for a battle map, a set-dressing detail in a dungeon antechamber, or a display piece for collectors drawn to occult and arcane aesthetics.
Perfect for adventurers who:- Want to anchor ritual or summoning encounters in a specific, memorable location
- Are building dungeon rooms, ruined temples, or cult hideout battle maps
- Enjoy painting arcane stonework — the deep-cut runes and geometric grooves reward a dry-brush and wash technique
- Collect scatter terrain and display pieces with a strong arcane or occult theme
Encounter Hook:
The party enters the basement of the abandoned mage's tower to find a summoning circle freshly inscribed on the flagstone floor — the chalk still white, the candles still warm. In the centre, a single iron nail has been driven into the stone, binding something just below the threshold of the material plane. The creature hasn't been summoned yet. But the circle is already active, and someone clearly intends to return.
