There is a particular breed of dwarf who never bothered to learn the axe, because they worked out early on that summoning something with considerably more arms — and considerably less patience — was a far more effective strategy. This miniature captures that dwarf at his finest: stocky frame, long beard, buckled robes, and a spellbook at his hip, both fists thrust skyward as an enormous spirit entity erupts from the arcane ether above him. The summoned form billows outward in cascading waves of spectral energy, its broad shoulders, clawed hands and snarling face rendered in extraordinary detail, towering over the diminutive caster who called it forth.

The contrast between the compact, grounded dwarf and the vast, churning spirit above him makes this one of the most visually arresting miniatures in the Epic Miniatures catalogue.
