Description

Where arcane engineering meets industrial ambition, the gnomes built a windmill — and then kept adding to it until no one quite understood how it worked, but everyone agreed it was magnificent.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

This steampunk windmill is far more than a scenic prop. Stacked with layered mechanical detail — riveted panels, porthole windows, external piping, a domed observation deck, and three broad bat-winged sails mounted on a rotating hub — it reads as a fully realised structure with a story baked into every surface. The tiered tower narrows as it rises, with a small staircase at the base and access hatches along the body suggesting that someone, somewhere, actually uses this thing. Whether it powers a gnomish forge district, marks the edge of a Artificer's workshop compound, or stands alone in a windswept frontier town, it commands the table.

Equally well suited to display shelves and battle maps alike, this piece is rich with paintable texture — from the mechanical rotor assembly to the decorative panelling on the drum base. Wash it in rust and brass for a lived-in industrial look, or pick out the panels in clockwork copper for a more polished arcane aesthetic.

Excellent for adventurers who:

  • Run Eberron, Ravnica, or steampunk-flavoured homebrew campaigns
  • Need a distinctive landmark for town or wilderness encounter maps
  • Want a statement piece for diorama builds or display collections
  • Are building a gnomish or Artificer-themed settlement on the tabletop

Encounter Hook:
The party has been tasked with retrieving a stolen schematic — but the thief has barricaded himself inside the upper observation deck of Cogsworth's Mill, wind blades still turning overhead, while his hired muscle holds the staircase below. Someone needs to climb.
