Standing Stone 3 by Ella's Arcanum
Description
The runes carved into its surface have no translation in any living tongue — and yet, standing before this ancient monolith, your party feels certain it is still being read.

- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This weathered standing stone is a monument to forgotten civilisations and arcane antiquity. Its rough-hewn surface is split with deep cracks and etched with angular symbols — whether the marks of a druidic sect, a giant clan's territory, or something far older and stranger is entirely up to you and your table. The sheer scale of the carving work, rendered in miniature with satisfying depth and texture, makes this a genuinely evocative piece of scatter terrain that earns its place on any battlefield or wilderness hex.
Whether it stands alone on a windswept moor or clusters with other monoliths to form a ritual circle, this scatter piece rewards the Dungeon Master who believes that the environment should tell its own story. It paints exceptionally well — dry brushing the rough stone texture brings out the carved runes with almost no effort, and a deep ink wash settles perfectly into those angular grooves.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Build atmospheric wilderness, druidic, or ancient ruins encounters
- Want scatter terrain that doubles as a storytelling prop or quest objective
- Enjoy painting textured stonework with dry brush and ink wash techniques
- Are assembling a ritual site, stone circle, or cursed menhir field for their campaign
- Collect display-worthy terrain pieces alongside their miniatures
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the stone circle at dusk, as instructed by the village elder. Three of the seven standing stones are already cracked — and the runes on this one are glowing faintly amber, pulsing in rhythm with something beneath the earth. Whatever ritual was performed here centuries ago, it is not finished.
