  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is no mindless beast. The winged sphinx is one of fantasy's great enigmas: a creature of divine origin, bound to guard something precious and utterly indifferent to the survival of those who fail its tests. This sculpt captures that tension beautifully — the lion-bodied guardian is posed low and forward, wings spread wide in full threat display, a studded helmet sitting firmly on its leonine brow. It's not lunging. It's waiting. And that's somehow worse.

The detail on the feathered wings is exceptional, each primary and secondary flight feather individually rendered, giving the model real visual weight. The harness straps across the chest and the riveted helmet suggest this sphinx has seen civilisations come and go — and has dressed for the occasion. Whether you're running a desert tomb encounter, a planar gateway guardian, or a riddle-bound boss fight, this mini commands the table the moment it hits the felt.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a sphinx guardian for a D&D 5e encounter or campaign arc
  • Want a large-presence monster mini that rewards close painting
  • Are building ancient Egypt-inspired, planar, or mythic fantasy encounters
  • Collect display-quality creature miniatures as well as gaming pieces

Encounter Hook:
The sealed vault door bears no lock — only a bronze plaque etched with a single question in a language the party's scholar translates, hands trembling: "What walks on your prayers in the morning, your deeds at noon, and your regrets by nightfall?" From the darkness beyond the door comes the slow, deliberate sound of very large wings unfolding.
