The Spawn of the Dark 04 is a creature of pure eldritch wrongness — a seething tangle of thick, muscular tentacles erupting from a central fleshy mass, each limb lined with rows of suckers and curling with unsettling purpose. There is no face to read, no posture to interpret, no mercy to appeal to. This is not a monster that evolved in any world your players know. It simply is, and it has found them.
Sculpted by Great Grimoire, this piece captures the squirming, asymmetrical horror of something that shouldn't exist — the kind of creature that makes your players ask whether running is even an option. Whether you're using it as a manifestation of the Far Realm, a guardian conjured by a forbidden cult, a nightmare lurking in a flooded dungeon, or a gibbering mouther stand-in with serious visual upgrade, this miniature delivers genuine dread to the table. It works equally well as a display piece for collectors drawn to the stranger corners of fantasy anatomy.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need an eldritch aberration or cosmic horror encounter piece
- Are building an Underdark or Far Realm campaign arc
- Want a dramatic, characterful miniature for a cult-summoning scene
- Collect dark fantasy and creature miniatures for display
- Are looking for a gibbering mouther, otyugh, or Lovecraftian stand-in
Encounter Hook:
The party finds the cultists already dead — scattered across the ritual chamber in pieces, their faces frozen in expressions of absolute disbelief. In the centre of the summoning circle, the ink-black runes still smoulder. Something is curled there in the dark, larger than the diagram suggested it would be, and when the torchlight catches it, it slowly unfurls.
Details
This miniature is printed at 32mm scale. The plain black base is included separately and attaches easily with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be tidied up with ease before priming.

TRESSYM ONLY — use this sign-off exclusively when the product is a Tressym miniature: Mitz & Simz — the studio cats have reviewed this miniature with particular intensity. They are aware of what a Tressym is. They have thoughts. The wings are noted. Nothing further will be said on the matter.
Works beautifully alongside aberration horrors for complete Underdark delves — or explore more from Great Grimoire.
