Anatolius of the Far Sands is no ordinary wanderer. A Soulforged — a consciousness fused into martial plate through ritual or necessity — he strides the wastes with the patience of something that does not tire and the purpose of something that cannot forget. His face is masked behind layered wrappings, eyes cold and calculating beneath a banded headscarf. At his back, a compound bow and a bristling quiver of war-tipped arrows speak to ranged precision; at his side, a short blade hangs ready for close work; and from his left hand swings a spiked flail on a heavy chain — the weapon of a warrior who has learned that versatility is its own kind of survival. Every surface of his ornate armour is etched with geometric desert-craft knotwork, and his wide trousers and travel pack suggest a wanderer who carries everything he needs and nothing he doesn't.
The sculpt rewards painters willing to spend time on it — layered fabric textures contrast beautifully against the hard-edged armour plates, and the knotwork across his torso and legs gives plenty of opportunity for contrast highlighting or OSL work. Equally at home striding across a desert hex map or standing sentinel on a display shelf, Anatolius carries the kind of quiet menace that makes other characters at the table look twice.
A great choice for adventurers who:
- Need a ranger or wanderer PC miniature with genuine visual character
- Are running desert, ancient ruin, or sand-sea campaign settings
- Want an NPC with mysterious, ancient-order energy — a Soulforged guardian or bounty hunter
- Enjoy painting intricate armour detail, fabric textures, and geometric cultural motifs
- Collect display-quality miniatures with strong narrative presence
Encounter Hook:
The party's tracker spots him first — a lone figure standing motionless at the edge of the caravan wreckage, quiver full, chain flail still swinging slightly in the hot wind. He doesn't explain who he's looking for. He just asks if the party saw which direction the merchants ran before they were taken. His patience, the ranger notes quietly, is not a virtue. It is a weapon.
