Description

He was the court fool long before the Count turned him — now his jokes have no punchline, only victims.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Melancholy is no ordinary undead. Where other vampires stalk corridors draped in brooding silence, he capers through candlelit ballrooms with a dead-eyed grin and one hand extended in theatrical invitation. His jester's horned cap and layered ruff collar speak of a court appointment centuries old, while the billowing cloak swept behind him carries the unmistakeable air of someone about to deliver a punchline that ends in bloodshed. There is a dagger at his hip and a pointed finger extended — an accusation, a command, or perhaps simply a gesture mid-bow before he strikes.

For Dungeon Masters running gothic horror campaigns, Curse of Strahd, or any Ravenloft-adjacent setting, Melancholy offers something rare: an undead NPC that unnerves through theatricality rather than brute menace. He could serve as the vampire lord's herald, a rogue spawn who has fashioned his own dark court, or a centuries-old bard whose Bardic Inspiration has curdled into something far more sinister. His open, mid-stride pose captures a figure perpetually in performance — right heel raised, cloak caught mid-sweep — making him equally compelling on the tabletop and on the display shelf.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a gothic villain with genuine presence for vampire-themed encounters
  • Are running Curse of Strahd or a homebrew Ravenloft-style campaign
  • Want a distinctive undead NPC that stands apart from standard vampire sculpts
  • Are building a display collection of dark fantasy or horror miniatures
  • Play or DM for Bard characters and want a sinister dark-mirror counterpart

Encounter Hook:
The party is mid-negotiation with the vampire lord when the great doors bang open and Melancholy pirouettes in, trailing cloak and candlelight. He announces, with a sweeping bow and one finger pointed directly at the warlock, that the Count has already decided — and that the jester himself has been asked to handle the entertainment portion of the evening. Initiative rolls, please.
