Description

Beneath the waves, ancient coral formations rise from the seafloor — silent witnesses to forgotten shipwrecks, drowned cities, and the predators that hunt between them.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

This small coral scatter piece from Mia Kay M3DM captures the gnarled, branching texture of real deep-sea coral in precise detail — each lumpy, ridged arm reaching outward from a broad, rocky base. Whether you're staging an underwater encounter in a sunken temple, dressing the shoreline of a coastal village, or building a vivid diorama of the ocean floor, this piece brings immediate environmental authenticity to your scene. At 32mm scale it sits naturally alongside your party and creatures without dominating the board.

Scatter terrain like this does the quiet work of world-building — it tells your players where they are before a single word of description is spoken. Cluster several together to suggest a reef, or place a lone formation at the edge of the map to mark the border of unknown depths. Equally at home on a painted display shelf as it is in the thick of a sea-hag's lair.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Run underwater, coastal, or shipwreck encounters and want grounded environmental detail
  • Build immersive battle maps for aquatic D&D or TTRPG sessions
  • Enjoy painting scatter terrain as part of a diorama or display collection
  • Want flexible, reusable scatter pieces that work across multiple map setups

Encounter Hook:
The party dives into the submerged chamber beneath the kelp-choked ruin — and realises too late that the coral formations scattered across the floor are moving. Each branching cluster conceals a roper, patient and still, its tendrils indistinguishable from the surrounding growth until the first PC swims within reach.
