Description

Somewhere between the cracked spine of a forbidden grimoire and a hastily shelved herbalism guide, the answer the party needs is almost certainly on one of these shelves.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

This small bookcase is the kind of scatter terrain that makes a room feel lived in. Three shelves of haphazardly stacked tomes, leaning volumes, and tucked-away folios sit beneath an ornately carved cornice — the sort of piece you'd find in a wizard's study, a merchant's back office, or a half-forgotten archive deep beneath a city. The carved scrollwork along the top and base rail gives it a distinctly grand, slightly faded quality, as though it once belonged somewhere more prestigious and has since seen better days.

Whether you're building out a sage's library, furnishing a thieves' guild headquarters, or dressing a cultist's ritual chamber, this bookcase adds immediate narrative weight to any scene. Scatter terrain this specific has a way of making players slow down, look around, and ask questions — which is exactly what a good DM wants.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Are building immersive dungeon rooms, studies, or urban interior scenes
  • Want scatter terrain that doubles as a cover object or interactive prop
  • Are painting detailed dioramas or display boards
  • Run investigation-heavy or roleplay-focused sessions where environment matters

Encounter Hook:
The party has broken into Aldric Fenbourne's private study on the third floor of the Merchant's Exchange. They have four minutes before the night watch completes its round. The bookcase in the corner holds dozens of ledgers — but one has been pulled slightly forward, as though someone left in a hurry. What's hidden behind it, and whose footprints are still fresh in the dust?

Scaled to 32mm and suited to both gaming use and display collecting. The piece arrives ready to prime and paint, or use straight from the box for unpainted games. As with all hand-finished resin pieces, minor surface marks may occasionally be present — these are easily tidied up before painting.

The cats rolled Arcana to understand why humans spend so much time on tiny figures. They failed the check. They stayed anyway.
