Slug the Snail God Bust by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
In the dripping dark beneath the roots of the world, there are those who whisper prayers to Slug — ancient, patient, and hungry in ways that have no name.
- ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
This is no minor deity of muddy garden paths. Slug the Snail God is something older, something that moves slowly not from weakness but from the absolute certainty that everything it desires will eventually come to it. This bust captures that dreadful composure in extraordinary detail — layered scales ripple across a broad, asymmetrical head, a jagged fin-like crest erupts from the crown in overlapping ridges, and lateral spines jut outward from a face that is simultaneously slug, predator, and something altogether other. The mouth hangs slightly open, rows of blunt teeth visible, as though mid-utterance in a language that predates common speech entirely.
The sculpt is mounted on a craggy display plinth that would sit at home on a shelf beside your most ambitious painting projects. Every surface offers something to reward a careful brush — the deep grooves between scale rows, the organic flow of the crest, the textured underside of the jaw. Whether you're planning a wet-blend skin tone, an iridescent slime wash, or a deep-sea colour scheme, this piece has the architecture to make it land.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Are looking for a detailed display bust to push their painting skills
- Want a centrepiece piece for a fantasy collector's shelf
- Need a visual reference or physical prop for a divine horror NPC in a D&D or TTRPG campaign
- Are building a collection of strange and memorable deity sculpts
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve a sacred relic from a sunken temple complex — but when they descend into the flooded lower chambers, they find the walls lined with carved likenesses of a god that appears in no scripture they know. A cult of myconid-adjacent zealots is mid-ritual, chanting in low, bubbling tones, and the centrepiece of their altar is a massive carved head that bears an unsettling resemblance to something that has been watching the party since they entered the dungeon.
